About me.

I am a qualified proofreader and copy editor based in Essex, where I live with my husband.

I have almost 28 years’ experience of working for a leading children’s charity in their finance department. One of my key responsibilities was writing and maintaining procedures and training manuals for staff and volunteers.

I quickly gained recognition for my attention to detail, accuracy, clarity, and concise writing style. I was frequently asked to proofread my colleagues’ documents, which I found very rewarding.

Just over a year ago, I decided to address my work-life balance: commuting had become tiresome and was adding an extra three hours to my working day.

I enrolled on a proofreading and editing course with the intention of starting up a small business that I could run from home.

I was completely blown away by the range of subjects covered on the course. I was hooked, I loved learning new skills, and have never looked back.

Contrary to popular belief, proofreading isn’t just about spotting spelling errors and poor grammar, it is so much more!
